Several years ago there have been numerous problems in the agricultural sector. The purpose of the establishment of the Agrarian Committee within the Business Association of Georgia was to promote this sector, facilitate reforms and improve the legal base.

The initial objective of the Committee was to identify outstanding issues and existing problems within the agricultural sector and bring them to the attention of the government. To this end, regular meetings have been held with the Ministry of Agriculture, Agricultural Committee at the Parliament and other governmental bodies concerned with agriculture issues.
In fall 2011, the Committee launched a comprehensive study of existing obstacles in this sector. As a result of a 4 months long work, at the Business Forum held in February 2012, the Chairman of the Committee presented existing prospects for the agriculture development, obstacles hindering development of the sector and a vision to overcome them.
Currently, the Agrarian Committee continues to work on problems pertinent to the agricultural sector, and hepls Association members to deal with these issues.
