Meeting with Giorgi Gakharia, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia

On April 17, 2018 members of the Business Association met with Giorgi Gakharia, Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

The minister talked with the representatives of member companies of BAG about the issues which is related to the image of Georgia as a safe country and introduced the reforms that the Ministry intends to implement in the near future.   

Businessmen had an opportunity to talk with the Minister on business security in the country and the existing criminal situation.

“All types of brakes of economic development should be removed in Georgia that will be identified. Our main challenge is to turn our country of challenges into a country of opportunity, not only from the economic perspective, but also from the security perspective,"said the Minister of Internal Affairs.

While assessing the meeting the President of the Association Giorgi Chirakadze noted that the security is a challenge not only for Georgia, but also for the rest of the world and Georgia is truly a leader in this region as a safe country. In parallel to this, it is very important for Business to have an active communication with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and periodically exchange the information, have a dialogue around individual problems that will facilitate faster and more efficient achievement of joint objectives.

The parties agreed on future cooperation and expressed hope that this cooperation will bring meaningful and interesting results.
