BAG Meeting with Murtaz Kikoria,Vice-Governor of National Bank of Georgia

On April 24, 2018 BAG organized a meeting between Murtaz Kikoria, Vice-Governor of National Bank of Georgia and the representatives of BAG’s member companies in the framework of the Finance Committee.

The session focused on discussion of the new regulations initiated by the National Bank, according to which issuing of credits for banking and non-banking sector will be complicated by  May7, 2018.

The new regulations of the National Bank lay down the restrictions on the loans and require full analysis of customers’ creditworthiness.

Representatives of the Business Sector see certain risks regarding this initiative. According to their assessment, such regulation will negatively affect the business environment and reduce the economic growth rate.

Based on the discussion held during the Finance Committee meeting, BAG will submit comments on the regulations to the Natiobnal Bank.
