Meeting on Labor Disputes in Arbitration

A roundtable discussion on Labor Disputes in Arbitration was held for  the representatives of the Association's member companies within the framework of the Legislative Development Committeet of the Business Association of Georgia (BAG). Judges Ketevan Meskhishvili and Ana Gogishvili, representatives of the Dispute Resolution Center (DRC) and othe representatives of the professional circles were also invited to participate in the discussion.
 
The participants discussed the peculiarities of labor arbitration, arbitration process and characteristics of recognition and enforcement of arbitration decisions.
 
As summarizing the meeting, Lasha Nodia, the head of the Legislative Development Committee of tthe BAG said: “the development of arbitration institutions in the country is extremely important for the business community as well as for every citizen;
Trends in developed countries show that the role of arbitration is increasing, and this is especially noteworthy in our reality, when the overcrowding of courts, together with other disputes, creates significant problems or the purposes of timely resolution of labor disputes and therefore, it is particularly important to maintain a constant dialogue with the judicial system to further support and strengthen the Arbitration Institute. "
