The Business Association of Georgia (BAG) and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) discussed the future plans of the Association's member companies and the forms of cooperation between the Association and the UNWTO. The meeting was hosted by UNWTO Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili. The sides discussed the opportunities for the development of sustainable tourism in the country and assessed Georgia's tourism potential.

It is noteworthy that on the part of BAG members, special interest was expressed in the direction of mountain resorts, where the parties talked about joint projects and investment opportunities. The importance of increasing and improving the quality of tourism infrastructure and services, especially in tourist-attractive destinations, was also stressed.

As part of the project, a meeting was also held with Ion Vilcu, Director of the UNWTO Affiliate Members Department, to discuss future cooperation between UNWTO and BAG and BAG Affiliate Membership.

"We are glad to have the opportunity to meet with the World Tourism Organization, where our member companies talked about important and topical issues. The conversation focused on Georgia's tourism potential and development, as well as investment opportunities. We hope that our cooperation with UNWTO will be even more intensive and fruitful,” said Levan Vepkhvadze, Executive Director of the Business Association of Georgia.

It should be noted that the above meeting took place during the BAG Platino Industria Forum, which was made possible within the framework of the EU-initiated project, EU4BUSINESS - Connecting Companies.
