A meeting with the mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was held at the Business Association of Georgia, where the business environment in the country and current economic trends were discussed.

During the meeting, discussions touched upon sentiment and expectations in the business environment and sector, as well as foreign direct investment and prospects in this direction. Attention was also drawn to labor market challenges, which for the second year in a row remain a significant obstacle to business investment activities. Additionally, the conversation addressed the stability of the Lari exchange rate and its impact on the country's economic resilience.

The Executive Director of the Business Association of Georgia, Levan Vepkhvadze, presented the results of the BAG Index for the first quarter to the mission representatives, noting that work is currently underway on the second-quarter results, which will be announced and published in the near future.

"Since its inception, the Business Association of Georgia has actively collaborated with international financial institutions, among which the Monetary Fund holds a prominent position. It is a great honor for us that during its visit, the Fund's mission expresses a desire to visit the Business Association of Georgia and hear the sentiments and assessments within the business community. This time as well, we discussed with the International Monetary Fund mission the country's economic parameters and ongoing challenges that affect both the business sector and the country's overall economic development," stated Levan Vepkhvadze.
