A Training on Legislative Approximation and Its Impact on the Private Sector under the EU Association Agreement Was Held at BAG
12 Jun '25
The joint project of the Business Association of Georgia (BAG) and Danish Industry actively continues. This time, representatives of BAG member companies learned about legislative approximation within the framework of the EU Association Agreement and its impact on the private sector.
During the training, focus was placed on EU governing bodies and their interrelationships, as well as the legislative approximation carried out under the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) signed between Georgia and the European Union.
It is worth noting that training participants gained more information about the existing coordination mechanisms for the Association Agreement signed between Georgia and the EU. The discussion also touched upon the EU accession process and procedures, based on which they thoroughly reviewed the steps to be taken by Georgia as an EU candidate country and the legislative approximation obligations that go beyond the scope of the Association Agreement.
"The project between the Business Association of Georgia and our Danish partners is actively underway, with the goal of developing the labor market during the EU integration process. As a result of the training, participants will be able to independently plan export procedures for the EU market, which is crucial for the business sector's readiness and awareness. We believe that BAG's cooperation with Danish partners will be beneficial both for the business sector and our country's economy," stated Levan Vepkhvadze, Executive Director of the Business Association of Georgia.
