Business Association of Georgia Signs Memorandum with European Partners to Adapt Key Principles of European Directives in the Business Sector

As part of its cooperation with Danish partners, the Business Association of Georgia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which provides for the active involvement of business in adapting the key principles of European directives and the European Green Deal.

Under the memorandum signed with Denmark's largest business association, the Confederation of Danish Industry, experience and knowledge will be shared regarding the so-called "green transition," helping Georgia's private sector effectively adapt to EU regulations, which in turn include CBAM, CSDDD, and CSRD regulations.

The memorandum also provides for advocating national climate goals with relevant government entities. Furthermore, emphasis is placed on effectively informing and preparing employees during the adaptation process to green economy regulations.

Along with Georgia, representatives of business associations from Ukraine, Moldova, and Armenia also signed the memorandum.

"Active cooperation with our European partners and European integration issues - which will support our country on its path to EU membership - remain among the highest priorities for the Business Association of Georgia. This Memorandum of Understanding is important for the effective implementation of green economy policies, involving the private sector in Georgia and the people employed within it. We believe that joint work on green economy issues serves as an effective mechanism in achieving our goals, and we are pleased that the Business Association of Georgia will take an active part in this process," stated Levan Vepkhvadze, Executive Director of the Business Association of Georgia.
