Representatives of the Tbilisi City Hall held a presentation of the municipal program "Learn and Get Employed" for members of the Business Association of Georgia (BAG).

Under the program, Tbilisi City Hall provides free retraining for citizens in specialties that are currently in shortest supply and highest demand within the private sector. The discussion covered 85 active programs implemented with the involvement of various colleges.

During the meeting, participants discussed both the practical aspects of the program and its budget, which stands at 2,500,000 GEL. This funding allows for the preparation of even more specialists in fields such as:Information Technology (IT), Construction, Energy, Tourism, Design and others.

Members of the Business Association of Georgia had the opportunity to receive detailed information about the program directly from City Hall representatives. Furthermore, Irakli Gvilava, Head of the City Hall Department, expressed readiness to consider funding new qualification-matching preparatory programs upon company requests. This applies to qualifications that are not currently included in the municipal program but are needed in the market, provided companies commit to employing the retrained personnel. The meeting proceeded in a Q&A format, followed by a discussion on the needs and expectations of the business sector.

"This meeting aims to coordinate the business sector and the municipality in the process of training qualified personnel, which is exceptionally important. According to the latest BAG Index survey, the shortage of qualified resources remains the primary challenge; therefore, informing our member companies and the public about such programs is a priority for the Business Association," stated Levan Vepkhvadze Executive Director of the Business Association of Georgia.
