The Business Association of Georgia held A Workshop for Member Companies Regarding Energy Labeling Rules

26 Dec '25

A workshop was held at the Business Association of Georgia (BAG) with representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development and the Market Surveillance Agency. The meeting focused on reviewing the energy labeling rules for household goods and certain types of industrial machinery.

The government decree was approved on October 3, 2024, which established energy labeling obligations for specific products. Specifically, the mandate applies to the following products: electronic displays (televisions, monitors, etc.), professional refrigerated storage cabinets, residential ventilation units, as well as refrigerating appliances, household space heaters, household tumble dryers, light sources (bulbs, lamps, spotlights, etc.), household dishwashers, and air conditioners.

The meeting was conducted in a Q&A format, allowing representatives of BAG member companies to receive detailed information on the matter.

"It is important for the Business Association of Georgia that our member companies are informed about new regulations in a timely and comprehensive manner. Such workshops facilitate effective dialogue between businesses and government agencies, reduce uncertainties, and, in this specific case, give companies the opportunity to correctly adapt to the new energy labeling requirements in advance," stated Levan Vepkhvadze, Executive Director of the Business Association of Georgia.

Notably, the established rules come into force on December 31, 2025.
