Levan Vepkhvadze, Executive Director of the Business Association of Georgia (BAG), and his First Deputy, Akaki Saghirashvili, are on a working visit to Amman, the capital of Jordan, aimed at discussing prospects for deepening investment and trade relations between the two countries.
As part of the visit, a meeting was held with Zaher Al-Qatarneh, Director General of the Ministry of Investment of Jordan, where ways to encourage bilateral investment were discussed, alongside opportunities for developing joint projects in energy, logistics, tourism, and information technology. Particular emphasis was placed on the fact that Jordan's investment climate is one of the most advanced in the region—featuring a "one-stop-shop" system, clear guarantees for investor protection, and a competitive tax model.
Additionally, representatives of the Business Association of Georgia visited the Jordanian Businessmen Association, where a meeting with Jordanian entrepreneurs took place. The parties discussed increasing bilateral trade dynamics, attracting investments, and specific sectoral partnerships, particularly in tourism, energy, and technology.
At the conclusion of the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Business Association of Georgia and the Jordanian Businessmen Association, which entails deepening bilateral cooperation, organizing investment forums and B2B meetings, as well as exchanging information and expertise.
Based on the MoU, the parties agreed that the "Georgia–Jordan Business Forum" will be held in Tbilisi in 2026, aiming to institutionally strengthen bilateral business ties and present new projects.
"Jordan is a gateway in the region where numerous opportunities are steadily emerging for Georgian companies' engagement. The high standards and investment environment that Jordan offers give investors a sense of security, which in turn forms a solid foundation for bilateral cooperation. On the other hand, Georgia, with its geographical location, simple tax system, and simplified access to markets of 2.5 billion consumers, can become an additional investment destination for Jordanian companies," stated Levan Vepkhvadze, Executive Director of the Business Association of Georgia.
