The Business Association of Georgia, together with the Personal Data Protection Service, held an expanded meeting with representatives from around 100 member companies, attended by Lela Janashvili, Head of the Personal Data Protection Service.

During the meeting, newly introduced services offered by the Service to citizens and organizations were discussed in detail. These include telephone consultations, face-to-face meetings with data protection officers, and thematic training sessions.

The discussion also covered general practices under Georgia's Law on Personal Data Protection regarding the registry of data processing procedures and maintaining corresponding documentation.

“Our top priority is ensuring that data processing procedures fully comply with legal requirements while safeguarding data subjects' rights to the maximum extent possible. That is precisely why we actively offer the private sector various formats of support and practical consultations,” noted Lela Janashvili, Head of the Personal Data Protection Service.

Additionally, a representative of the Service presented an innovative online platform, the “Digital Advisor,” which assists organizations in developing practical guidance recommendations tailored to their specific needs. The goal of the “Digital Advisor” is to support the private sector in aligning with key legal aspects of data processing. Guidance recommendations developed by the Service and available on its official website were also highlighted.

“The Business Association of Georgia actively collaborates with the Personal Data Protection Service, as consumer rights protection is a critical issue for the business community. Such meetings not only ensure compliance with legislation, but also provide businesses with accurate, detailed information - which, in turn, is essential both for the Service and for the smooth operation of the business sector,” stated Levan Vepkhvadze, Executive Director of the Business Association of Georgia.
