The Business Association of Georgia (BAG) hosted leading UK-based lawyers and representatives of legal companies. The meeting was held at the initiative of the Georgian Bar Association within the framework of the third Georgian-English Law Forum.
The main goal of the event was to share professional experience and best practices between Georgian lawyers employed in the business sector and their English colleagues. During the meeting, the parties discussed current legal issues and future cooperation opportunities in detail. The conversation touched upon the generalized practice of arbitration procedures, dispute prevention mechanisms in commercial transactions, and, in the case of existing disputes, the timelines of proceedings and enforcement procedures. During the meeting, participants had the opportunity to receive comprehensive answers based on facts and real cases from experienced practitioner lawyers on topics of interest to them.
It is noteworthy that representatives of leading legal firms and chambers participated in the meeting from the English side, including: Lawlex Solicitors, Quadrant Chambers, Goldsmith Chambers, Thomas More Chambers, and Outer Temple Chambers.
“The meeting held at the Business Association of Georgia is an important step toward deepening partnership relations between Georgian and English legal circles and strengthening legal support for the business sector. English legal practice and standards serve as a leading benchmark for global business. Today's meeting is an excellent opportunity for lawyers in the Georgian business sector to establish direct professional contacts with leading specialists operating in England and discuss joint initiatives and projects,” stated Levan Vepkhvadze, Executive Director of the Business Association of Georgia.
