Business Association of Georgia joined the World Bank Global Network

In December 2013 Business Association of Georgia joined The World Bank Private Sector Liaison Officers (PSLO) Network. It is a network of 156 business organizations in 106 countries (chambers of commerce, business and trade associations, investment agencies).
This is the first time when Georgia became member of this network through the Business Association of Georgia. Private Sector Liaison Officers facilitate business sector to best utilize opportunities, services and knowledge of international financial institutions. They also advise international financial institutions on how to better engage private sector in programs aimed at developing specific sectors. Irina Kvakhadze - Deputy Executive Director of Business Association of Georgia - will be the Private Sector Liaison Officer in Georgia.
In January 2014, the 12th annual retreat of public sector liaison officers was held in Paris, which was attended by Irina Kvakhadze, Deputy Executive Director of Business Association of Georgia. During the retreat, various representatives of business and trade associations, chambers and agencies from different countries exchanged their experiences and best practices in dealing with international financial institutions.
In order to develop the business environment, "Business Association of Georgia" continues its cooperation with various international institutions, including the World Bank, European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), International Monetary Fund (IMF). By joining the global network of the World Bank, Business Association of Georgia created yet another mechanism to facilitate the development of private sector.
