Under the decision made during the 3rd joint session of the Business Association of Georgia, there have been changes in the government bodies of the Association

On October 18, 3rd joint session of the Business Association of Georgia was convened in Tbilisi Mariot Hotel, which elected the President, Vice President, Supervisory Board and the Board of Trustees of the Association.
Before the elections, President of the Association George Chirakadze presented to the members of the Association the report on activities undertaken over the recent two years.
Past two years have been essential for the "Business Association of Georgia". Since its foundation, Business Association has been resolutely moving forward with the aim to develop into an objective and impartial institution enjoying a high degree of independence, with the purpose to conduct dialogue among the state, businesses and the society.
The Association managed to maintain the founding principle defined at the outset of its establishment - being free of political affiliation - and as a result the Business Association of Georgia as an organization enjoys a high mandate of confidence.
Business Association of Georgia, through its close cooperation with the executive and legislative branches of the government, international organizations and nongovernmental sector, was able to undertake numerous positive measures in order to improve business environment. It is equally important that the instruments of effective communication developed through the efforts of the organization provide for the dialogue with the government and constant upgrading of the business environment.
Over the recent period, the Association was actively involved in the process of developing the regulatory legal basis for businesses; moreover, the Association has itself been an author of number of initiatives.  
By the end of 2013 one more significant step was taken when the Concept of economic Development of Georgia" document  was developed.  This document illustrated the vision of the Business Association of Georgia and large businesses operating in the country on what steps should be taken and in what sequence in order to achieve a long-term, stable economic growth in the country, and most importantly to systematically increase the quality of overall welfare.
The Association plans to further expand the scope of its activities to ensure maximum involvement of businesses in the current reforms process in different directions.
Within the frames of the joint session of the Association Members, elections of government bodies of the Association was conducted, which resulted in electing George Chirakadze for another two-year term on the post of the President of the "Business Association of Georgia". He was unanimously elected for this position. First Vice President of the Association will be Samson Pkhakadze, and Lasha Papashvili will serve as the Vice President of the Association.

As a reminder, four years have passed since the establishment of the "Georgian Business Association". Up to seventy companies have joined the association so far and it has been actively involved in the process of improving the business environment in the country.
