Business Association hosted a meeting with the Ministry of Finance

On June 12 business representatives met with Minister of Finance, director general of the Georgian Revenue Service and his deputies at a meeting organized and held by the Business Association of Georgia at the hotel Radisson Blue. Minister of Finance introduced to members of the Business Association economic policy of the government. Parties discussed the status of the economy, current economic trends and future forecasts.
Meeting participants were acquainted to the ongoing processes in the tax system, main tax policy directions, and new features being introduced in the taxation system based on the interests of the national budget and tax payers. Several important services introduced in electronic services and presented by representatives of the Revenue Service at the meeting, are among the new developments to improve and simplify tax payer services. Trainings will be held in the near future for representatives of Business Association member company associates, lead by authorized members of the Revenue Service, for the purpose of explaining the above developments in greater detail, effectively applying in practice and advising on advantages and drawbacks of its application.
As pointed out by the Minister of Finance, participants discussed all important issues for businesses, including tax and customs reforms. "Building an economically strong state requires cooperation between the state and businesses, and I am delighted that today businesses expressed their readiness to increase investments and employ more people in Georgia"- Minister Khaduri pointed out.  As President of the Business Association George CHIRAKADZE indicated, cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and Revenue Service is entering a more intensive phase, which is very important for all parties. The Ministry is ready to continue intensive dialogue with businesses and make decisions after consulting with them.
