Minister of Finance of Georgia met with members of the Business Association

Business association of Georgia initiated and hosted a meeting of the Minister of Finance of Georgia Nodar Khaduri with up to 100 member companies of the Business Association at "Sheraton Metekhi Palace" hotel on February 11.
At the meeting, also attended by deputy ministers and head of the revenue service, minister of finance introduced economic policy of the government to business representatives with its main priorities focusing on ensuring that doing business in Georgia is free of intervention from government officials, there are no more privileged business persons, everyone is equal under the law, and the market operates in conditions of healthy competition.
Meeting participants discussed all outstanding issues that are important for businesses, including Tax and Customs reforms planned by the ministry of finance to support businesses, new developments in improving the legislature, work of the Council of Tax Appeals, assistance to leasing activities; parties discussed the current situation after the enforcement of the amendments to the tax code made towards wider liberalization and reviewed the comments and views expressed by business representatives. The participants discussed all activities planned by the ministry related to the 2013 economic growth and macroeconomic stability.
"It is our objective to build an economically strong state in cooperation with businesses, which is impossible without partnership between the state and businesses. There is a full readiness on the part of businesses to increase investments and number of employees. We discussed current reality in Georgia and the directions and views our new government maintains, including with regards to the tax legislature" - pointed out Minister of Finance Nodar Khaduri.
"It is important and positive that Minister of Finance listened to all the problems businesses face today. We expressed similar views about many issues. It is very important for us that there is a communication between us to enable businesses and the government to maintain constant dialogue, during which we will submit our recommendations and proposals to the government" - pointed out George Chirakadze, President of the Business Association.
An agreement was reached before the meeting that the Ministry of Finance and the Business Association of Georgia will further continue their close cooperation to ensure that businesses are able to discuss their problems and jointly search for solutions, and businesses have detailed information about the reforms planned by the ministry. Minister of Finance expressed his readiness to make all decisions after consulting with representatives of the business sector.
