Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Georgia presented new energy projects to the businessmen

On May 24th Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Georgia, AleksandreKhetaguri met members of Business Association of Georgia in Tbilisi Marriot. He spoke on the new energy projects that government plans to implement in the near future. According to the presentation the Minister gave, government is making effective steps and is implementing relevant projects to ensure energy safety of the state. These projects include diversification of the energy infrastructure and creation of additional energy capacities. Energy projects that are already implemented significantly increased the export potential of Georgia. This growth will be more evident as the new hydro resources are exploited.
As AleksandreKhetaguri stated, in the process of the development of energy infrastructure, one of the main priorities of the state is to consider business' interests; Countrywide, in particular regions large industrial zones have been identified and state will ensure constant energy supply to these zones. This, in itself, will contribute to fast development of manufacturing and its regular operation.
Minister also discussed the novelties, which were implemented in order to remove barriers in the process of exploiting natural resources.
The president of Business Association of Georgia stated that it is significant for business to possess information on projects, which government is carrying out or plans to do so in various directions. This information becomes of particular importance, when projects are implemented in strategic fields, such as energy and natural resources. Close and intensive communication will enable Ministry and business to share opinions and information about the potential of various fields. This cooperation, in itself, is beneficial to both parties.
As mutually agreed at the meeting, BAG and Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources will continue effective cooperation in the future.
