On Tuesday, May 1 2012, Business Association of Georgia hosted another meeting in Courtyard Marriot. The meeting was held in the framework of dialogue between business and government. Businessmen and representatives from Ministry of Justice, National Bank of Georgia, Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Education and Science, Revenue Service, Chamber of Notaries, and Competition and State Procurement Agency attended the meeting.
First vice president of BAG moderated the meeting. He stated that "he would like to thank representatives of Georgian government, who are present today at this meeting and who plan to present to us novelties, which are important to each of us and which contribute to the development of the economy, to creation of business-friendly environment and social welfare. I would like to note that this is not the first time that such a dialogue is held between business and government under BAG's initiative. We, with joint efforts, managed to create effective mechanism, which, on one hand, ensures involvement of business circles in the important decision-making process, and on another hand, enables government to learn business' opinions and problems they face in a closer, more open format. I believe that our meeting today takes us one step closer to our common goal and reveals new opportunities once again".
At the meeting, the representatives of Georgian government discussed in depth novelties that they plan to implement in the near future and that are aimed at improving business climate and investment attractiveness. On its hand, business had opportunity to raise and discuss issues that are related to legislative base, state procurement system, tax reforms and etc. Detailed information on the topics presented at the meeting can be found in the attached presentations.
