Business Association of Georgia and Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance discussed new stage of their cooperation

Business Association of Georgia hosted a meeting with Investigation Service of Ministry of Finance on February 3, 2012. The meeting was held in the framework of cooperation between Business Association and Ministry of Finance. Businessmen and officials from Investigation Service attended the meeting. Among the topics discussed at the meeting were issues such as business' engagement in the new economic policy, improvement of business environment and tax infrastructure, increase of public awareness level, methodology and particularities of Investigation Service,and reforms implemented in the department.  Head of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance stated that one of the important objectives of the department is to strengthen dialogue with business sector and give consideration to the opinions that arise from the business circles. This is significant in the process of creating simple and reliable tax system. The same was the goal of the reforms implemented in the tax sphere during last period - improvement of legislative base, new regulations of criminal law, reduction of tax fines and adoption of measures to prevent economic crime. According to the data presented by the Investigation Service at the meeting, there was significant decrease in economic crime during last years. As the president of Business Association of Georgia stated, it has been several years that BAG successfully cooperates with Ministry of Finance, Revenue Services and Investigation Service.  This cooperation has been especially successful after new economic policy was adopted and a new tax code was enacted. In general, trust and simple and fair tax system are very significant factors for business, as they create foundation for proper development.
Business Association of Georgia and Investigation Department will continue their active cooperation in the future.
