Second General Meeting of the BAG members marking the Changes to the Association’s Management Bodies

Second general meeting of the BAG members was held on October 7, at Sheraton Metekhi Palace Hotel. The President, Vice Presidents, Supervisory Board and Board of Trustees were elected at the general meeting.
Before the elections, the members heard the Association's progress report, delivered by George Chirakadze. For the last two years Business Association of Georgia, in close cooperation with the governmental, international and non-governmental organizations, achieved to take numberless steps towards improvement of business climate. More importantly, with the Association's efforts the dialogue between business and government has been established and actively maintained on all issues faced by business. BAG submitted many initiatives on legislative changes and contributed to the sophistication of business regulatory legal framework. The Association was fully involved in the adoption of new tax code and majority of the comments made by business were taken into account.
The Association is intending to widen its scope of work in the future in order to maximize business involvement in the various reforming sectors. After the elections, George Chirakadze will remain as the President of the Business Association of Georgia. He was unanimously reelected on this post. Samson Pkhakadze was elected as the Association's First Vice President and Lasha Papashvili as the Vice President.
BAG's Supervisory Board has also undergone changes and now comprises eleven instead of previous nine members:

One of the founders of the Association and former First Vice President, George Isakadze will continue his work and act as an advisor in the Supervisory Board. Another novelty of the Association is the establishment of the Board of Trustees which will represent BAG on a higher level and in international relations as well as lobby its interests. In addition, the Board's task will be to define and plan Association's charity work; Members of the Board of Trustees as well as the detailed future plans will be published by the Association in the nearest future. As a reminder, already two years has passed since the establishment of the "Business Association of Georgia" and its membership at present counts over sixty large companies. It is actively involved in the improvement of business climate in the country.
