The Business Association of Georgia and GeoStat Moving towards New Stage of Cooperation

On August 3 the Director of National Statistics Office of Georgia, Mr. Zaza Chelidze delivered a presentation, for the representative companies of the Business Association, on inflation rate in Georgia for July 2011 and inflation calculation methodology.
Pursuant to the Agreement signed between GeoStat and the BAG, similar meetings will become regular allowing the businessmen to get familiar at the original source of the inflation rates and methodology for calculating these rates. Furthermore, economic evaluation statistics and monthly estimates of GDP growth were presented at the meeting. According to the GeoStat Director, Mr. Zaza Chelidze, the Association has played important role in the relations between GeoStat and the industry, which has led to deeper and to a qualitatively new stage of cooperation.
