Prime Minister of Georgia Discussing the Projects, to be Implemented within the Millennium Challenge Corporation Georgia Second Compact, with the Businessmen

The Business Association hosted the Prime Minister of Georgia on February 28 at Marriott Tbilisi Hotel. The meeting aimed at discussing the priorities and the projects to be potentially implemented by Georgia within the funding allocated by Millennium Challenge Corporation. On January 5, in Washington, D.C. at its quarterly meeting, the U.S. Government's Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Board of Directors selected Georgia and Ghana as first eligible countries to develop proposal for second compact funding. Second compacts are contingent on successful completion of first compacts, continued good policy performance, development of proposals that have significant potential to promote economic growth and reduce poverty, and availability of funding. The projects on establishment of American University in Georgia and construction of East and West Georgia connecting road via Goderdzi Pass, being at the reviewing stage, has been discussed at the meeting. Furthermore, businessmen had an opportunity to discuss with the Prime Minister the issues of their interest and concern.
It was agreed that the Prime minister will continue meetings with the members of BAG and discuss issues of their interest on regular basis.
