GeoStat Awarded the BAG Member Companies for their Proactive Cooperation

On October 29 the National Statistics Office of Georgia awarded the representatives of the BAG member companies with special certificates and thanked them for their proactive cooperation. The cooperation between the Business Association and GeoStat took start in the beginning of 2010 when a Memorandum was signed and agreement reached that the companies would provide the GeoStat with necessary information and in return GeoStat would supply them with statistical data obtained through various studies. In addition, with the support and facilitation of Business Association, GeoStat signed similar memorandum with other sectoral associations as well.
As stated by the GeoStat's Chief Executive Mr. Zaza Chelidze, "The quality of statistical data depends on the quality of information supplied to us. Accordingly, Geostat selected 10 best companies who had been proactively cooperating with us and for this cooperation we awarded them with special certificates. For the next stage, we're going to award another about 15 companies. Furthermore, as per the Memorandum, we send them statistical data on monthly basis which does not only cover official statistics. Besides official statistics these companies and business associations are supplied with additional statistical information important for the activity and competence of each business association".
As pronounced by the Leader of BAG and GeoStat Joint Working Group, Mr. Vano Baliashvili, "Under the legislation in place, submission of special forms to the National Statistics Office is not mandatory anymore and financial sanctions have been eliminated. Therefore, we chose voluntary approach as basis of our cooperation. To respond to the needs of businesses, GeoStat developed several special packages covering information necessary for individual industries. This rewarding is an additional incentive for businesses and I believe that similar cooperation should be expanded to be converted into adequate quality information provided by Geostat".
The list of companies awarded by GeoStat covers: Ltd Mobitel, Ltd Kvarzit, JSC Madneuli, JSC Saqcabel, Ltd Georgian Railway, Ltd Lukoil Georgia, Ltd Aversi-Rational, Ltd Georgian lottery company, Ltd Goodwill and JSC Iberia Refreshments.
