Georgian Small and Medium Enterprises Association was founded

The Georgian Small and Medium Enterprises Association (GSMEA) has been founded on September 10, 2010 at Sheraton Metekhi Palace Hotel. Among the initiators of founding of this organization, along with several famous businessmen, are the four largest business associations"

"Business Association of Georgia " (BAG)
"American Chamber of Commerce "(AmCham)
"European Union -Georgia Business Council " (EUGBC)
"International Chamber of Commerce National Committee" (ICC-GEORGIA)
Establishment of the Association aims at protecting and lobbying the interests of SMEs, supporting creation of healthy competitive environment in the country, establishing active communication by SMEs with government authorities, financial institutions and with public directly.
After ceremonious signing of the articles of association by the group of initiators, the Association's Supervisory Board and President have been appointed.
Newly established Association will be headed by Giorgi Isakadze, and Kakha Kokhreidze was appointed as the First Vice President.
At the presentation which followed the official ceremony, the audience and media have been informed by the Association's leadership about its key objectives and tasks.
President of the Association, Giorgi Isakadze stated: "In governmental terms, today, small and medium business is a top priority. It is the part of pro-active community who will create Georgia's tomorrow's economy and work places, create grounds for accumulation of wealth in Georgia and realistic conditions for the achievement of public welfare. It is my honor and responsibility to be the President of this Association".
The Association is planning to actively cooperate with government and non-government sectors, business associations, civil institutions, international organizations and financial institutions.
Already in the nearest future the Association will be offering to the persons interested in small and medium size business, various, including lobbying, business planning, legal aid, marketing, accounting services and trainings.
