The Mayor of Tbilisi Meets the Association’s Members to Speak About the Projects

At the meeting organized under the auspices of the Business Association of Georgia, on March 26 the Mayor of Tbilisi met the member businessmen of the Association and other invited guests.

The meeting aimed at providing the businessmen with the information and hearing their initiatives.

Based on Financial Times and FDI Magazine ratings, Gigi Ugulava familiarized the businessmen about the ease of doing business rating according to which the Capital of Georgia is among the leading ones. The Mayor also talked about the problems delaying t he development of small and medium businesses and added that together with the GoG works on the respective amendments are underway.

At the meeting the Business Association made a proposal on abolition of corporate tax for businesses whose monthly turnover is less than ten thousand GEL. According to the Vice President of the Association Mr. Soso Pkhakadze, large companies are very well aware of their duty before the public and their concern about the development of small and medium business is just the part of this duty.

In closing, the Association's President Giorgi Chirakadze emphasized that BAG is interested to be actively involved and support government initiatives on encouraging small size business.
