Meeting with the Representatives of International School of Economics of Tbilisi (ISET)

Meeting with ISET management was held at the BAG office on February 5, 2010. Together with the leadership of the BAG the meeting was attended by the Chairman of ISET Supervisory Board, Roy Southworth and CEO Eric Livny. (In addition Mr. Southworth and Mr. Livny are the members of the Advisory Board of the Association).

Mr. Southworth who has been working in Georgia since 2003 as a resident representative of World Bank, spoke about the importance and the activity of ISET.

This school functioning at the Tbilisi State University provides two-year master's program for economists throughout South Caucasus and has close partnership connections with GoG, WB, BP and SIDA.

Association's President Giorgi Chirakadze familiarized the visitors about the objectives and priorities of the Association, inter alia financial market development, facilitation of domestic production and export, active involvement in pension and tax reforms.

As outlined during the meeting, the Association is able to be actively involved in the development of tax-customs modernization project initiated by WB.

In conclusion the participants of the meeting agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation between BAG and ISET in the nearest future.
