Import Substitution by Facilitating Domestic Production

The USAID SME Support Project and Policy and Management Consulting Group, with the support of BAG and in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia conducted one-day workshop on import substitution.

For the purposes of encouraging development of country's economy and analyzing import substitution and increase of export growth potentials, the USAID SME Support Project together with Georgia Business Climate Reform (GBCR) project and American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) conducted survey of over 200 businesses operating in Georgia. The workshop at which the results of the survey were presented encouraged discussion on possibilities of import substitution in Georgia
