Meeting of the Members of BAG

The first meeting of the members of BAG was held on October 8, 2009 at Tbilisi Marriott Hotel in which over 30 business organizations participated. The Supervisory Board of BAG was elected at this event composed of nine members.  Mr. George Chirakadze - Founder and President of company "UGT" was elected as the President of BAG;

The post of First Vice President was taken by Mr. Giorgi Isakadze - Managing Partner of "Agara Sugar Management"; Mr. Soso Pkhakadze - Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Wissol Petroleum Georgia" was elected as Vice President; The following persons were appointed in the Supervisory Board: Mr. Lasha Papashvili - Chairman of the Supervisory Board of "JSC Bank Republic Cociete Generale Group"; Mr. David Mamulaishvili - Founder of the company "Interplast"; Mr. Giorgi Devadze - Director General of company "Madneuli"; Mr. Dimitri Chikovani - Director General of company "Outdoor"; Mr. Giorgi Kurtskhalia, Director General of the company "Magistyle"; Mr. Vano Nakaidze, founder of "Universal Capital Group".

Representatives of different companies discussed the importance and future plans of Business Association of Georgia. The participants agreed that one of the main goals of the work of BAG shall be to facilitate development of business environment in Georgia.  Businessmen talked about the key activities of the organization and its role in further development of country's economy.

As mentioned at the meeting, the Association will perform important function for the establishment of better communication between business and government authorities. Businessmen believe to encourage speedy institutionalization of cooperation between government and business.
